Migrants will be registered in reception centres by the border and then taken to an accommodation centre at Šentilj near the border with Austria.
On Saturday morning 600 migrants had already been brought to Slovenia, 300 to the Petišovci border crossing and 300 to Gruškovje. About 500 were taken to a heated camp at Šentilj, from where all have already continued their way into Austria.
After Hungary had closed its border to migrants early Saturday morning, Croatia started directing migrants towards Slovenia. As Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary Boštjan Šefic explained, none of the migrants requested for international protection in Slovenia. Entry points where migrants can cross the Croatia-Slovenia border are three: Petišovci, Gruškovje and Središče ob Dravi (the latter for crossings by train). There are two exit points – Gornja Radgona and Šentilj, which are able to accommodate higher numbers of migrants. The Obrežje border crossing had also been set as a possible entry point if needed, and already received groups of migrants on Saturday. Šefic concluded that Saturday's arrival of migrants went smoothly and that all activities were performed by regular police units.
