The magazine's Europe editor, Stefanie Linhardt, explained that the European Finance Minister of 2016 title goes to Mramor also for his efforts in continuing the privatization process and his success in implementing a comprehensive reform program and activities for the gradual consolidation of Slovenia's public finances.

Mramor reacted to the international recognition by saying that he was happy that Slovenia is once again considered a financially trustworthy country with a relatively high economic growth, lower unemployment figures – especially among the young, and a rise in employment figures.

"With its resolute and wise economic policies, Slovenia has managed, in just two years, to emerge from a deep financial crisis without any international aid. It would not have been possible without the exemplary cooperation between key institutions – the government, National Assembly and the Bank of Slovenia," said the awarded minister, Dušan Mramor.
