Their municipality received the 2015 Golden Stone Award as the developmentally most perceptive Slovenian municipality, and it is also the winner from the Middle and Southeast Slovenian regionsIn Šentrupert the development plans are mostly based on natural resources.
"Such award can be most certainly considered as an acknowledgment for the realised projects, and our development vision. It however also poses a number of questions on things which were not done. You can't ever satisfy everybody, and in future we must do our best to comply with the expectations and needs of our citizens. And if we do it in a sustainable manner, even better," the mayor of Šentrupert explained.
They were very successful in withdrawing the non-refundable funds in the energetic field; they obtained the EU non-refundable funds both for the boiler room and for the cogeneration. "We managed to obtain funds for some other projects as well – e.g. the Land of Hayracks," he added.
