Maja Makovec Brenčič was PM’s choice for the Minister of Education, Science and Sport, while Andreja Katič was proposed for the Minister of Defence by the SD Party. The National Assembly should decide on candidates at the extraordinary session on May 13.
Candidates without blemishes from the past
Cerar introduced Makovec Brančič as a candidate experienced in all the fields which are presently of crucial importance, and in his opinion that should convince the MPs as well. He explained that among other, he had posed to the candidates a number of unpleasant questions as well, as a candidate for ministerial position should be undisputable, and his work without any blemishes which might prevent him/her from performing his/her function in full. Both candidates assured Cerar that they had no skeletons in their cupboards.
