40% of places will be available in secondary vocational programmes, 30% in grammar schools, and the remaining number in other vocational programmes. The Ministry has preserved the vast programmes offered by secondary schools, and has even expanded it in certain cases. The call for applications informs the pupils which vocational schools will offer education with apprenticeship in four courses - metal sharper-toolmaker, stonemason, metal sharper/toolmaker and gastronomy and hotel management.
This form of education will be presented in detail next month at the information days in separate schools. Any students with contracts with an employer will become apprentices.
The number of students last year was 17,448, approximately one half of those were female, and one half male. For them more than 23,400 enrolment places at secondary schools will be available.
