The office of human rights received a record number of complaints last year. In fact, the office got more than 10,000 calls, which is twice the number it received in 2011.

Vlasta Nussdorfer, of the office of human rights, said that her office was seen by many as a place of last resort. She also noted that many people wanted to meet with her but lacked the money to make it to Ljubljana.
