And there's more, says the director of Lipica Stud Farm Lorela Dobrinja: "We will rearrange the old hay barn into a stable with blocks, set up a riding circle for young horses and refurbish the dressage arena."
If the farm gets permissions and consent, they might begin the renovation of Maestoso Hotel and the pool at the end of the year. Renovations will be made possible with an investment of EUR 10 million by the Ministry of the Economy as part of the transformation of Lipica Stud Farm from a public institution into a holding company.
Dobrinja announces that two-way traffic will be arranged through the promenade towards Sežana. Asked whether the Ministry of Culture agrees with the change in the traffic regime, Dobrinja says that "all procedures are in progress, and I hope that we will find a common solution for the benefit of everyone involved".
The stud farm is pleased with this year's tourist season. By the end of June, they hosted 49 thousand visitors, which is 35 percent more than in the same period last year. By the end of the year, 119 thousand guests are expected. The revenues from farm tourism are 9% higher than last year, and 34% from hotel facilities, Dobrinja explains.
As for investments, they would like to finish them by 2020, when the Lipica Stud Farm will celebrate its 440th anniversary.
