Thus the World Championship in Ski Flights in 2020 will most likely be organized in Planica for the seventh time, as the confirmation is expected at the congress to be held in Cancun, Mexico on June 9.

The other two candidates for the organisation of the World Championship in Nordic skiing in 2021 are Trondheim, Norway, and Oberstdorf, Germany. Planica has already tried two times to become the organizer of this championship, but failed. Both Trondheim and Oberstdorf had already hosted the world championship in Nordic skiing.

Cortina d'Ampezzo is the only candidate for the World Championship in Alpine skiing in 2021.
