The players from Ljubljana forced Maribor to accept their rhythm, and took charge on the pitch. They created a lot of opportunities for their team by fast and combinatory play. Thanks to the excellent performance of Hentyja they went to the locker room with two-goal advantage.
They kept their game on same level in the second half as well, although the home team had some excellent opportunities to score, the best by Dare Vršič who hit the goalpost from the distance. The end result was set by Šporar, after another fast attack.
With the victory in Ljudski vrt, Olimpija left Maribor behind, and is only two points behind the leading team Gorica. Maribor is third, five points behind the team from Gorica. In the next round of the First League Telekom Slovenia, Maribor will play against Rudar in Velenje, and Olimpija will host Celje in Stožice
