Will we still see him on the bench of the Ljubljana football club, is the big question Olimpija fans are asking. Talking to TV Slovenija on Monday, Bišćan confirmed that he would like to continue working in Slovenia.
"I’ve already said many times that it’s nice for me here. I feel like home in Ljubljana. Zagreb, where my family is, is close, and I have no problems with the language. Everyone in Ljubljana respects me – at the hotel, where I’ve been living for a year now, at the ŽAK sports park where we practice, everywhere. I don’t have many reasons to want to leave, if, of course, they still want me here. The club has to decide which path it’s going to take, and make plans for one or two years in advance. Then we’ll sit down, see what the situation is, and decide how to move forward," Biščan said talking to reporter Anže Bašelj.
Bišćan was “near the exit door” around a month ago after a series of bad results, but in the end he managed to survive: "What happened, happened. Things like that happen in every club. I’m just sorry that the public got the impression that me and the club’s president (Milan Mandarić) had problems with each other, because there was no such thing. I respect him a lot. He showed that he trusted me and brought me here as a young inexperienced coach. He invested a lot of time and money into the club, and so the least he deserves from us is some respect. A lot of the credit for many of the things we achieved this season goes to him."
