The organizers have received 2,500 applications for Sunday 42 km race, 8,500 for 21 km race, and 7,000 for 10 km race. Including Saturday races for pupils of elementary schools, middle schools, and preschoolers, the number of participants reached 26,700. The course leads through streets and roads in the centre of the city and in its surroundings, and it will be the first time the longest distance will be ran in a single loop.
On Sunday the 10 km race will start at 8.30 am, and the 21 km and 42 km races – the results will be valid also for the state championship – will start at 10.30 am. The paraplegic (wheelchair, handbike) 42 km marathon will start 10 minutes earlier.
The start of the race will be at Slovenska road, the finish at the Congress Square. The traffic in Ljubljana will be closed from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm; a lot of roads will be closed for eight hours.
This year doping tests will be introduced also for amateur runners. In case of a positive result the runner will be disqualified.
