The SD Social Democrats and the SDS Democrats already presented their party programs. Their manifestos include creating new jobs, economic growth and better living conditions. Other parties are to follow suit. Wednesday is the deadline for all parties to present their lists of candidates.

According to recent surveys the top four parties at the moment are the newly established party by Miro Cerar, the SDS, the SD, and the Pensioner's Party DeSUS.

The EU Commission recently issued 8 recommendations for Slovenia including more austerity - an issue the new government would also have to deal with.
