The Slovenian representative at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will be selected by spectators and listeners as well as juries. The ratio between scores from the juries and from tele voting will be 50–50.
Eight songs from the pre-selection round will qualify in the finals, four chosen by spectators and listeners and four by the choice of the jury, which will consist of seven members (one out of the seven jury members will be a representative of the TV Slovenia’s Entertainment Programme, the organizer of the event). In addition to the votes of listeners and viewers, the final choice will be made six other juries, which will comprise five members each.
The winner will travel to Portugal. Lisbon will host the Eurovision song contest for the first time in its history. The event will be organised in May and will feature 43 countries. The first semi-final evening will take place on 8 May, the second on 10 May, and the grand finale on 12 May 2018.
