In the final the Slovene landed at amazing 250 m and improved the four year old record of Johan Remen Evensen by 3.5 meters. Peter Prevc is now also the first non-scandinavian world record holder since Andreas Goldberger 15 years ago the first Slovenian world record holder in history. In the first round Prevc jumped on 237.5 m and he scored a total of 438.8 points.
The Slovene said afterwards: "I knew that Anders Fannemel jumped well and I had to remain focused. The speed and the position was perfect. Then I just landed. Right now it's hard to describe my feelings, it will probably take a few days. It's always great to jump far. This win today and the world record is my biggest success so far."
