The National Assembly has 49 apartments and everyone who lives at least 60 kilometres from the parliament can ask for it. In the previous term, 25 MPs applied for a place in the scheme. MEPs pay a rent that is much lower than the economic price. For a flat that can be viewed in the photos, and measures 39 square metres, the monthly rent is 190 euros.

More demand for smaller apartments
All apartments for MPs are in Ljubljana, but they are different in size. The smallest measure almost 20, and the largest about 70 square metres. Most of the accommodation also has a parking space.

The rent, along with equipment wear, depends on the size of the place – it costs from 90 to 300 euros. More demand is for smaller apartments. For example, all costs – for example water, electricity, heating or the internet – must be paid by the renters.

If none of the MPs apply for the flat, it can also be rented to employees of the National Assembly or employees or officials of other government bodies.
