In addition to Ljubljana's Pediatric Clinic, Santas also climbed down the façade of the Jesenice General Hospital and the Maribor Medical Center. In Jesenice, this was their first-ever appearance. As is the tradition, the role of Santas was played by members of the Mountain Rescue Service.
Once they made it down to the ground, the Santas went on a walk through the different hospital wards. "The descent of the Santas down the walls of pediatric clinics makes these December days just a bit brighter for the children. If we can bring a smile to their faces, our work has paid off," said the organizers.
The purpose of the annual event is to surprise children who have to spend the holiday season in hospital beds and to make them happy.
