Ballroom and Latin dancer Naja Dolenc from Maribor was announced this year's Miss Photogenic, while karateka Tina Stegel from Postojna won the online vote.
"I returned to the track after a 12-month layoff, and this title is a consolation prize of sorts. It means a lot to me because I couldn't compete in the summer season. My next goal is to qualify for the Junior European Championships," said Šepetavc.
Jury accounts for 50 percent of the vote
The jury consisted of swimmer and Para-Olympian Darko Đurić, former track-and-field athlete Brigita Langerholc Žager, pro skater Timotej Lampe Ignjić, former swimmer Alenka Kejžar, and last year's Miss Sport of Slovenia, Tjaša Bahovec. Their vote accounted for 50 percent of the total vote.
The contestants' on-stage performance, the online vote, and HR company Profil's vote made up the other 50 percent of the vote.
All finalists were asked pageant questions by Profil; Šepetavc, Deu, and Jurković achieved the highest scores.
"Miss Sport is a role model"
"It's always good to be backed by people who believe in you. We couldn't have pulled off this event without our sponsors, especially Derby. Female sports are underfunded, and one of the goals of this event is to help female athletes find new sponsors. The winner of this pageant is a role model, and her enthusiasm helps us promote female sports," said Anabelle Ann Logar, the host of the event.
Uroš Bitenc was the presenter of the pageant. The event also featured performances by singer Ula Ložar, duo Batista Caddilac, and Žiga Lakner.
The Miss Sport pageant was first held in 2003. The first Miss Sport was Jana Šumi. She was succeeded by Lea Huskić, Karmen Hribar, Aneta Salihović, Natalija Waldhuber, Pia Arhar, Ajda Sitar, Lea Perovšek, Živa Viktoria Turk, Urša Klavs, Klara Krošelj, Uršula Tomažič, Kaja Bajda, and Tjaša Bahovec.
