On average the area produces 2,500 tons of salt, but this month so far not even one kilogram has been successfully made. The rainwater washed away most of this year’s harvest.

The poor weather has also cut down on the number of tourists visiting the area. Last year some 55,000 people visited the salt pans at the coast. This year it’s significantly less.
