The takeover bid is for approximately 2.5 million shares – all the shares of Certa Holding. Postojnska Jama, d.d. is ready to pay 3.20 euros per share. The authorised company Certa Holding, d.d. owns 54% of Certa d.d., while Certa itself owns 100% of Hotel Cerkno and the ski resort. It is also a majority owner of the TIK Kobarid d.o.o. and a 25% owner of Eta Cerkno d.o.o.
Locals, who have come together within the Ozaveščena Cerkljanska Civil Initiative, are afraid of what will happen with their assets after the purchase. They are represented by the lawyer Sebastjan Kerčmar, who explains that they want to keep their assets and jobs, as well as ensuring the development of the region and changes for the better. Moreover, they expect the buyer to offer a fair price for the shares.
Marjan Batagelj, president of the Postojnska Jama management board, is convinced that they have bid a fair and correct price. By taking a shareholding in Eta, he hopes, if the takeover succeeds, to actively influence the majority owner to take the wishes of the locals into account – there are 800 jobs at stake. Regarding TIK Kobarid d.o.o., he is certain that the company, by establishing a development centre, can grow even faster.
