Despite numreous warnings, pedestrians in Slovenia are still among the most vulnerable road users. Pedestrians are major victims of road accidents caused by inappropriate behaviour of motor vehicle drivers.
They are particularly vulnerable during the autumn and winter months, when visibility is the worst.
Current data shows that 14 people lost their lives in car accidents in 2014, which is 35% less compared to the year before.
Interestingly, most pedestrian injuries occur in towns and villages where they are considered to be more safe.
