The sixth football event hosted by Valter Birsa and Tim Matavž lured to the idyllic countryside of Gorica the most illustrious cast ever. Among those who took the opportunity to show their skills with a football the respectable guest from abroad the Prince of Monaco could be seen, along with Tina Maze, Anže Kopitar, Primož Kozmus, Dejan Zavec, Jakov Fak, Vasilij Žbogar, Primož Peterka and Jure Košir. The former football aces Srečko Katanec and Zvonimir Boban observed the tournament, while the Slovenian anthem was sung by Oto Pestner.
"Dober dan, Slovenija!" the Prince of Monaco greeted the crowd of curious spectators in the Slovenian language, and continued: "I'm very pleased to be here. My thanks to the president (Borut Pahor) for inviting me to participate at this wonderful charity event. Thank you for the nice reception and hospitality."
The organizers of the event have increased the expectations for the coming years by hosting the Prince of Monaco Albert II. "Now we only have one option left – to invite Queen Elisabeth," Birsa joked. He hopes the next charity football event will be organized in July, after the European Championship in France.
