Some 200 citizens of Logatec gathered for the second day in a row. They are opposed to the new asylum centre. The most worried are the inhabitants living in the vicinity of the Educational Centre for Protection and Rescue, which was on Monday recategorized into a branch of the asylum centre intended for accommodation of applicants for international protection, which is surrounded by approximately ten residential houses.
Mayor Berto Menard received an explanation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs that mostly families with minors would be accommodated in Logatec, and that additional safety measures would be implemented. The police station in Logatec would be reinforced, as well as the patrols, and adequately trained security guards provided.
