Kofola and the Slovenian company P&P, owned by the Polič family, will together acquire a 75.3 % stake in Radenska, Slovenia's largest mineral water producer. Kofola's aim is to strengthen Radenska's presence in foreign markets and hire more people if business continues growing.
Kofola decided to take over Radenska because they wanted to add mineral water to their portfolio. Kofola boss Janis Samaras said at a press conference in Ljubljana today that Radenska will fill in the missing pieces in their portfolio. Kofola supplies fruit drinks, soft drinks and bottled water.
"Radenska is one of the best brands and best mineral waters on the European market. It has tremendous potential in Slovenia and other former Yugoslav republics, but also in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Italy," Samaras said.
