Slovenia's second largest city Maribor warmed up to 40 degrees, as did Novo mesto in the south. The all time high of 40.6 degrees was set in Črnomelj in 1950, but today this record might be broken. The heat will persist until Friday afternoon. There will be a possibility of severe storms accompanied by gale-force winds and hail tomorrow night.
