A helicopter has been scouring the area where Aleš Holc and Peter Mežnar were presumed to have gone missing, but the search was aborted due to bad weather. Experts said experienced climbers would not wait for 20 days to be rescued but would attempt to leave dangerous area so they presumably had an accident while trying to climb Durbin Kangri II mountain.
The decision to end the search operation was brought about together with the families of both climbers. Holc and Mežnar went missing around 10 days ago when they didn't return to base camp. They were last heard off on July 5th. They were taking part in an international expedition in the Chinese part of the Himalayas.
