On that day in the house of writer and literary critic Josip Vidmar in Ljubljana, the founding meeting of the anti-imperialist front was attended by representatives of the Communist Party, the Christian Socialists, the Sokol movement and a group of Slovenian intellectuals.
There will be no central state ceremony this year but this weekend numerous commemorations are held. President of the Republic Borut Pahor at yesterday's Festival of Peace at Trije Kralji on Pohorje once again called for reconciliation among citizens. Today Pahor’s office will host an open door day, events will be held among others in front of the National Liberation memorial on the mountain Boč and in Sromlje, an event marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Kozjansko Detachment will be addressed by the
President of the WWII Veterans' Association Tit Turnšek.
National Resistance Day is a celebration of the fundamental values of freedom, courage, ingenuity and culture.
