The government is struggling to lower the deficit to below 3% of gross domestic product. Brussels was displeased with the government’s proposals and asked for more specific measures to be sent to the European Commission by Friday.

However, the coalition party DESUS has already said they will leave the coalition if pensioners have to lose their bonus. The Prime Minister Miro Cerar and the head of DESUS, Karl Erjavec, are expected to discuss the issue and how to resolve it.
