No ticket for the matches? No need to worry – TV Slovenija, Val 202 and MMC will provide you with plenty of news – big and small – related to the European basketball championship in Slovenia.
TV Slovenija will broadcast two matches daily in the 1st part of the championship, as well as all games of the second round and final-round matches. 40 matches in total, all in high definition (HD), of course. Thorough insight into the games will be provided by two pairs of commentators, Miha Žibrat/Roman Horvat and Miha Mišič/Grega Nachbar, as well as the hosts in the TV studio – Sanja Modrić, Saša Jerković and Bojana Knez. The studio programme starts at 5 pm and ends just before midnight. It aims to accommodate to every audience: from basketball experts to families with children. The guests invited to the studio range from expert analysts such as Jaka Daneu to Slovenian professional basketball players Goran Jagodnik and Dino Murić. The studio part is designed to offer a truly diverse selection of topics. A series of interesting videos will feature a number of Slovenian sportspeople joined by Slovenian basketball players, and will focus on the interaction and bond between them. Other studio guests include well-known faces from the world of basketball and beyond. Other topic highlights feature family stories related to basketball, the female view of basketball, linguistic issues related to basketball, and more.
Val 202 in the spirit of EuroBasket
Basketball is the prime focus of Val 202 in September. The reporters of Val 202 will be updating you minute by minute with what’s going on in all four “places of action”: Ljubljana, Celje, Koper and Jesenice. In the 2nd part of the championship, 11–22 September, Val 202 will organise for an diverse, attractive and entertaining programme to take place by the Stožice Arena – the fan area is going to be transformed into a lively event and a popular meeting place, not only for the fans but everyone, which should give the tournament an extra vibe.
40 matches in HD on MMC TV
A special MMC web portal –www.rtvslo.si/ep2013 will offer a live broadcast of 40 matches, also in HD. We’ll continue the series of interviews and chats as well as reports on what’s happening on and off basketball courts. The atmosphere in the fan areas will be broadcast live by our camera crew. Esad Babačić, an insightful sports journalist, has been invited as our guest columnist for the championship.
A plethora of other sports events
But that’s not all RTV Slovenija has to offer in September. A number of other sports events will be covered live: qualifying matches of the Slovenian football team with Albania (6 Sept.) and Cyprus (10 Sept.), world championship in wildwater canoeing and kayaking (11–15 Sept.), European volleyball championship (20–29 Sept.), the first match of the Maribor football team in the European League (19 Sept.), and Formula One races in Monza (8 Sept.) and Singapur (22 Sept.).
