Today, the pupils were given their final report cards, awards and certificates. The schools also held ceremonies ahead of National Day.

Holidays are a chance to let everything go, but they also provide opportunities to experience new things. Education Minister Maja Makovec Brenčič said in her address to the pupils and teachers: "Make the most of your time off. Connect with your friends and with those who have had fewer opportunities in life than you."

Ninth-graders already finished school on June 19, while high-school graduates received their certificates on May 25. Pupils who have failed courses can retake them in the summer. Many pupils are also waiting for the results of their college-prep or vocational leaving exams.
