After a year and a half, and a number of problems, the section measurement of speed through the Trojane tunnel will finally begin. Too fast drivers will start receiving traffic offence notices to their home addresses, to which the proof will be enclosed: a photo of the vehicle, and the measured average speed.

Between two points, a system of four cameras with the necessary measuring equipment, will sense registration plates of the vehicles, and when too high average speed will be sensed between the two points, the measurements and the photograph of the vehicle will be sent to the monitoring centre to which the Police will have access as well. The measurements will be performed on the highway towards Ljubljana.

The starting point is after the exit Trojane, in front of the Trojane tunnel, and the end at the portal at the exit from the Podmilj tunnel. At that section the speed is limited to 100 kilometres per hour.

According to the Police data, every third driver violated the speed limit at that section of the highway. The mentioning of the new system in public alone had a slight positive influence on the number of violators.
