Thus the European plan for relocation of refugees from the countries with the heaviest burden will be implemented. Slovenia will accept people coming from Syria, Eritrea, Central-African Republic, Iraq and Bahrain, Interior Ministry State Secretary Boštjan Šefic explained.

Asylum seekers from Syria, Eritrea, Bahrain...
They will be arriving gradually, a predefined number each month. At first they will reside at the Asylum Centre, and then according to the set procedures. Interior Ministry State Secretary Boštjan Šefic said that the first relocations could happen already in April, when 40 people will be relocated into Slovenia.

The relocated asylum seekers will reside at the Asylum Centres, and their applications for international help will be processed in compliance with the law. Unaccompanied minors will have priority treatment; they will be given special treatment, assured help for they stay and regulation of their position.

Šefic elaborates that the capacities for international help will have to be expanded. Those entitled to it will be then included into integration programmes; it is expected that every person should be capable of independent life in Slovenia after five years. Šefic believes in successful integration of these people.

Slovenia will accept 20 persons, i.e. four families from other countries for permanent relocation; these have already been granted international protection. Šefic expects non-governmental organisations to cooperate in their integration into the new environment, based on a tender. The mentioned individuals are coming with the recommendation of the high authorities of the states which had granted them international protection. Šefic emphasizes that the wish these people showed to come to Slovenia greatly influenced the selection.
