The 32nd Slovenian Music Days will bring six concerts, a range of accompanying events, and an international musicological symposium titled New Music in the New Europe Between the Two World Wars. The title of the symposium reveals the program focus of this year's festival, which will also be enriched with a number of first-time performances of new works by Slovenian composers.
Among the festival happenings will also be the presentation of a scientific monograph entitled "Sisyphean Beauty: A Portrait of Uroš Rojko" by author Leon Stefani. One of the highlights of the 32nd Slovenian Music Days will be Lucijan Marija Škerjanec's Concert for a violin and orchestra no. 1, to be performed by violinist Žiga Brank and the RTV Slovenija Symphony Orchestra on Thursday on the closing night of the festival, and for the first time ever on Slovenian soil.
Tonight's opening concert will also feature a few interesting and rarely performed pieces, created in the period between the two world wars.
