At the beginning of the month the actor and TV host started collecting money for his new project through Slovenia’s first crowdfunding platform Adrifund. Slakonja had set a goal to collect 10.000 euros in 36 days. He has now managed to collect the sum 22 days before his deadline. On top of that he also managed to collect more than the amount initially predicted to cover the basic production costs for the new video. The collected amount currently stands at 12.648 euros.

"We have our first golden sponsor and have managed to surpass our main goal! Thank you to everyone who supports me. Donald Trump is going to happen," wrote Slakonja on Facebook. He added that until the deadline you can still become part of the story with your pledges.
Unsuccessful hunt for sponsors
Before deciding to start collecting funds through the crowdfunding platform, to the surprise of many Slakonja was unsuccessful in his hunt for sponsors despite the success of his last video Putin, Putout. The millions of views on Youtube brought in only a tenth of the invested money needed for the shooting of the new video.

Fans will now be able to watch the Trump video on Youtube on the 18th of July. And it seems the Mockingbird Man will not stop at Trump, as Slakonja also wants to impersonate characters like Angela Merkel and other pop stars and athletes.
