Municipalities are already gearing up to deal with the massive amount of cleaning that is expected to be done. From today until Saturday at least half a meter of snow is expected, with the exception of the coast, where it's raining.
Slovenia hasn't had that much snow in more than 50 years. This morning, the borders with Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia were closed to trucks. Trucks in the interior will also be pulled out of traffic.
The possibility of closing schools remains a possibility. The Ministry of Education said the hours could be made up later.
