Early this morning, Minister Jakič met heads of rescue organizations to evaluate the situation and make further plans. Around 500 tonnes of steel debris, cables and power lines are lying scattered around the country, leaving as many as 25% of consumers without power.

Slovenia has been receiving assistance from the EU, within hours of request. Electricity generators are being distributed where needed across the country. The town of Postojna has received four of them. 15 electricity generators were sent to the area of Maribor, 11 to the coastal and Karst region, 11 to the area of Celje, and 3 to the area of Kranj in the NW. According to Minister Jakič, the first priority was to secure electricity to those that have been cut off the longest.
