Nevertheless the government, in cooperation with NGOs and municipalities, is actively preparing for such a scenario, said Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec at the joint meeting.

A meeting of the government coordination team for dealing with the refugee crisis was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The team includes the ministries of interior, defence, health and labour, family and social affairs, as well as the Administration of Civil Protection and Disaster Relief, representatives of the PM's cabinet, the Government Public Relations and Media Office, representatives of non-governmental and humanitarian organizations, and representatives of local communities and municipalities.

Prepared for 631 refugees
Erjavec said the coordination team established that Slovenia was ready for the European Commission's proposal, to be announced on Wednesday, according to which Slovenia is to accept 631 people. The minister also expressed his expectations for the forming of a unified European approach to the issue. He added that the perception of the current issue as a European problem and humanitarian crisis was becoming stronger inside the EU.
