The scale was prepared on the basis of the opinions of millions of users who have booked accommodation through their website (they offer over 290,000 hotels in 60 countries).
The scale also took into account the price and the overall impression, as well as the friendliness of the staff and the general likeability of the hotel. A travel expert at the mentioned website, Taylor L. Cole noted that finding the right hotel can mean the difference between still-ok vacation and an exceptional experience. He noted that therefore, all user reviews were statistically processed and prepared to create an extensive survey of the best hotels.
A large part of the research was dedicated to the research of hotels in the U.S., but they also devoted some time to hotels in countries outside the United States and created a scale with the best hotels. The principality of Monaco was in first place with an estimate of 4.4 (out of 5), followed by French Polynesia (4.3)in second while third place is shared by the Turks and Caicos Islands, Cayman Islands and Slovenia with an estimate of 4.2. New Zealand, Ireland, Ecuador, Portugal, Austria and Bermuda are also on the list with an assessment of hotel 4.1.
