Slovenia had no trouble defending its 24:18 six-goal lead from the first match at the Zlatorog arena in Celje, which was played on Saturday.

However despite the success the match in Stavanger was tense, especially when Norway took a five-goal lead with 29:24 in the 57th minute. But two consecutive goals by Marko Bezjak ensured a calm ending to the match.
Apart from Bezjak, most responsible for Slovenia’s advancement to the World Championship in France was the top goalscorer Dean Bombač, who scored eight goals, and goalkeeper Urban Lesjak.
The group draw for January’s World Championship will be held on the 24th of June.
