Marko Kveder, a carpenter from Rafolče near Lukovica, has proved it is indeed possible, although many had smiled in disbelief when hearing about his plan to make a wooden model of Ford's famous Model T. What is more, Kveder made a car that is better than the original model from 1908.

For several decades, Kveder has been making style furniture, a profession that requires a lot of expertise. However, few people other than his customers know about his mastery, which is why he wanted to design something that would bring out all his skills. The wooden automobile proved to be just the thing. "In this case, many skills are indeed needed. One has to be a bit of a carver, a sculptor as well as a car painter to make this," Kveder points out.

The master carpenter has done most of the work himself but also turned to a few other craftsmen for help, including his brother, an auto mechanic, who took care of the engine.
The car is more powerful than the original model and provides greater comfort – it even has a refrigerator as well as a mini bar. Expect for the chassis, the engine and its bonnet, the car is made of home-harvested wood.

Ford Motor Company has already learnt about Kveder's car and loves the design. His next project is making another, more spacious model.
