He will be also received by the President of the Czech government Bohuslav Sobotka, and he will have a meeting with the President of the Czech Republic Miroslav Zeman. At his visit to the Czech Republic, Cerar is accompanied by the Minister of Culture Anton Peršak, and the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Economy Aleš Cantarutti, who will attend separate meetings.

Cerar is visiting the Czech Republic for the first time. The Slovenian government visited the Czech Republic for the last time 16 years ago. The Czech Prime Minister Sobotka visited Slovenia in April 2015, almost two years ago. In spite of that the Office of the President of the Slovenian government claims that Slovenia and the Czech Republic have similar interest in development, and similar opinion of a number of actual political issues. The trade in goods is increasing; the Czech Republic holds the 9th place among the most important foreign trade partners. Lately several Czech companies invested in Slovenia.
