The main ceremony was addressed by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Renata Brunskole. Mrs. Brunskole praised the the work of the Red Cross and said the National Assembly has awarded around EUR 1m to the institution this year.

Currently the Slovenian Red Cross provides food packages to more than 156,000 people. The majority of its work is focused on helping the socially marginalized.

The Slovenian Red Cross has almost 14,7000 volounteers. The anniversary was also marked with a commemorative stamp.
