The Slovenske železnice boss Dušan Mes said that allthough Short-term effects and profits of railways operator are nice, there are still many problems in the system from a strategic point of view. He said that a positive bottom line is merely a precondition for further efforts to restore the company's health. The state-owned railway company reported 4.26m EUR in operating profit for the first half of the year earlier this month, while the net profit of 7m eur compares to the 7.3m EUR loss in the same period last year and is an EUR 8m improvement on the planned figure.
