A 66-member team from the South Korean TV channel TVN is currently in Slovenia to film a number of scenes for a popular TV series Dear my friend.

The crew from TVN got inspired by Slovenia and its nature, which is why they decided to pick Slovenia as the natural film set for their romantic drama. In the coming week, Ljubljana, Piran and Bled will thus host the film crew and renowned South Korean actors such as Go Hyun Jung and Jo In Sung, who are popular actors not only in South Korea but in many other countries as well. The TV series will be broadcast on numerous TV channels across Asia, including China and Japan, as well as in South America.

The Slovenian Tourist Organisation (STO) emphasizes the importance of choosing Slovenia as a film destination for a popular TV series in terms of increasing the visibility and recognisability of our country among the wider Korean public. STO has helped to organise and host the Korean film crew. It has also established partnerships with destinations and tourist providers across Slovenia, for whom South Korea and Asian markets in general are an important overseas market with a great potential for growth. Namely, STO’s acting president Maja Pak believes that the choice of Slovenia as a film location for a popular Korean show is an excellent opportunity for promoting our country in the so-called overseas markets, which present a great potential for Slovenian tourism.
