Olimpija Ljubljana is to get around three million euros from the deal. The transfer of the 21-year-old Šporar has thus become the richest ever in Slovenia's football league.

Šporar "more expensive" than Iličić
Prior to the deal the record was held by Josip Iličić, who moved from NK Maribor to Palermo for a price of 2,3 million euros in 2010. Closely following are the transfers of Nemanja Maksimović to Astana, Etien Velikonja to Cardiff (both for 2 million euros) and Jan Oblak to Benfica (1,6 million euros).

Šporar leaves as the leading goalscorer of the league
The 180 cm high Šporar thrilled in the autumn part of the national championship. He scored 17 goals in 18 matches and tops the list of best goalscorers.

Mandarić: I don't feel easy at heart
"When we talked in the summer about a new contract, we promised him that a time would come when he would reach his real value and be prepared to move abroad. As president of NK Olimpija Ljubljana, I don't feel easy at heart that Andraž is leaving. But I wish him lot of success in his future football career," was how Olimpija's president, Milan Mandarić, commented the move of their best player on the club’s website.

Basel – 18 times Swiss champion
FC Basel, an eighteen-time Swiss champion, was established in the year 1893. After 18 rounds this season the team from Basel has a convincing lead with 43 points in the Swiss championship. The closest follower is Zürich's Grasshopper football club, trailing by 10 points. The club plays its home matches at the St. Jakob Park stadium. This season it is also playing well in the Europa league. Competing in a group with Fiorentina, Poznan and Belenenses, it has already secured its place in the round of 32.
