The Constitutional complaint against the decision of the National Assembly had to be lodged by midnight Wednesday. At their extraordinary meeting on November 4 the MPs decided that the request to call a referendum was not admissible, and they stopped collection of voters' signatures in its support which had started on Monday by the Student Radio.

The National Assembly recognized the referendum as inadmissible, as the last constitutional amendments of referendum regulations do not allow referendums on Acts on emergency measures in the field of defence, safety, or elimination of consequences of natural disasters. No unambiguous answer was found, though, whether the content of the amendment to Defence Act falls under that provision.

Student Radio: Militarization of society
Student Radio is problematizing granting of additional powers to the Army. In their opinion no amendments to the act are necessary, as the law in force in exceptional cases already allows the presence of the Slovenian Army at the border.
