The country’s student and pupils’ organisations have meanwhile announced putting pressure on the government, to secure the money for subsidized transport.
They had been angried by Infrastructure Minister, Samo Omerzel’s statement that his ministry does not have the funds to secure subsidies for the rest of 2014.
Conseqeuntly, this could mean that next month students and pupils could end up paying 100 euros more for the transport tickets compared to this month.
Bratušek on the other hand assured that funding through end of June will be secured today.
According to her, the government will find solutions for the rest of the year in the next 14 days. Though, she did not explain where they will get the money from.
Samo Omerzel the Infrastructure Minister last week told the public that his ministry is running out of money for the subsidies for the transportation for students. This means that students may have to pay up to 100 Euros for a monthly ticket next month.
As elections are near the government will probably find the 26 million Euros for subsidies for student transportation in this year’s budget. The question is how the state will finance several subsidies for the young next year.
