The main reason for the reduction is that more financial officers have been dispatched. Less red tape has also been helpful. The introduction of certified cash registers after the Croatian model, on the other hand, requires the upgrading of the tax information system, which would enable the analysis of large data bases. For now such cash registers are not in use.

The total tax debt is still high. At the end of September it stood at EUR 1.5 billion. Just a year ago the amount was EUR 150 million higher.

Mobile units have also detected undeclared work and the result in just one month is that over 700 new entrepreneurs have registered and 800 requests for supplementary work have been reported.
