The general manager of the Šoštanj coal-fired power plant TEŠ Matjaž Eberlinc said that 2014 was an extremely demanding year for Teš, as the company was facing very harsh financial conditions. According to unrevised data Teš in 2014 produced and sold 2835 gigawatt-hours of electric energy, and 259 gigawatt-hours of thermal energy for heating.
Presently Teš owes 764 million euros to banks, and the obligations towards the largest supplier for Teš 6 project Alstom amount to 37.8 million euros, which will be settled from the sources of the largest partner, Holding Slovenske elektrarne (HSE).
