Representatives of all institutions that will care of unaccompanied foreign minors met yesterday at the Postojna Center for Social Services.
Both schools have considerable experience working with refugees from the former Yugoslavia, as well as with the integration of minors from the Center for Aliens in Veliki Otok -- children didn’t speak a word of Slovenian when they arrived. Representatives of the High School for Forestry and Carpentry insist they will do their best to ensure that the children are fully integrated into the life of the town.
To help them overcome the language barrier, the ministry in charge of the children will enable them to attend 20 additional hours of Slovenian language lessons a year.
