Finance Minister Dušan Marmor and central bank governor Boštjan Jazbec are in Washington for the final day of the autumn meetings of the IMF and World Bank. Finance Minister Dušan Mramor confirmed that the IMF has expressed satisfaction with the reforms of the previous governments.
However IMF officials say Slovenia has to continue cleaning up its banking sector and state-owned banks. The country further has to lower its budget deficit and continue with the announced privatisation of 15 state companies.
IMF's forecast for Slovenia this year predicts a 1,4-percent growth in GDP.
